Calle 29 descends from the main square down to the Muelle Real , a pedestrian wharf and one of the city’s newest and most inviting social gathering spots since it was brought back from ruin several years ago. Especially sociable at dusk, the simple concrete jetty dotted with benches and lamps is a great place to sit, chat and watch the sun go down behind the western border of the bay. There’s a small outdoor café here and opposite, over the road, is the elegant nineteenth-century customs building, built alongside the original wharf.
